At Honilands Primary School we recognise that all pupils are entitled to have access to a broad range of learning experiences which allow them to develop the knowledge, understanding, skills and attitudes necessary to prepare them for and to help them succeed as members of the wider community.
The curriculum aims to provide opportunities for all pupils to learn and to achieve, irrespective of social background, culture, race, gender, differences in ability and disabilities. We also ensure our curriculum supports their spiritual, moral, social and cultural development as well as teaching them what is right or wrong. This is supported through many aspects of school life but is also taught explicitly through our PSHE curriculum.
The Year by Year curriculum maps outline the topics to be taught each term in each year group. It also contains the texts being used to support these topics. Also included are details of appropriate/expected enhancement visits to match each topic. These maps give an overview of what is being taught in our broader curriculum. These topic areas are then broken down into specific learning steps - you can find some of these steps on the Curriculum Letters in the Curriculum & Assessment folder.
